I notice that the Camcorder & Video SIG are cancelled until further notice. Is there a reason why? I have usually enjoyed these sessions and miss them. Any chance of them resuming?
This SIG may resume sometime after the April – June time frame – Ike recovery efforts are still underway and take precedence.
Before starting any new efforts, the format will be reviewed since, in the past, it’s been very hard to get anyone besides a very select few to be proactive or interactive. As a result, attendees have to be content to listen to what the SIG leader has to say at every meeting. Sometimes, this can be boring to some . . .
Any constructive or thoughtful responses to this thread would be most appreciated as they may stimulate others to also express themselves. If few responses are forthcoming, this will be taken to mean that the OVERALL INTEREST LEVEL in this SIG is LOW.
In the meantime, if anyone feels strongly that this SIG should start up again SOON, HAL-PC Clear Lake will support that person’s efforts. Please advise by posting your thoughts to this thread.
Hi Carl
I do have a few thoughts.
I am still available at least for part of a session to demonstrate how you can access and utilize your computer at home from a remote location. Although that is not strictly Camcorder or Video matter, it does have some connection and members might be interested.
Also, I have set up at my home 4 wireless cameras that are constantly taking videos of the front door, back door, driveway and pool. I can demonstrate how I can view what these cameras are “filming” from a computer anywhere in the world as long as I have access to the internet.
Finally, I have come up with a new layout for the DVDs I produce from our travels. From our last trip that was 3 weeks in China, I produced 4 DVDs. Each has an Index and is broken down into chapters where they are grouped by subject. i.e the hotels we stayed in, the different modes of transportation we used from rickshaws, to ferrys, to the trains, planes etc, the different restaurants, vendors, entertainment, sights etc.In such a massive collection of data, it is a quick to get to the subjects that would interest the viewer. Again I could demonstrate.
Carl, I wish I could do more with my limited knowledge in this area. At least I can support the effort by attendance
